My story about my dad entitled "A Boilermaker with the Heart of a Hoosier" will be published in Undeniably Indiana, a book that celebrates Indiana's bicentennial scheduled for release August 22, 2016.

Michelle Ditton (Chief Nursing Officer of the Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center) and I have written a book together that includes much of the materials we've presented in local and national trainings. We will publish the book through Socratic Parenting LLC and release it on Denim Day, April 22, 2015. Click on "ABC's of Sexual Assault" in the Navigation Bar to learn more.

Luminis Books published my nonfiction parenting book entitled A Simple Guide to Socratic Parenting in May 2014. The release coincided with Just Myrto and forms the basis for my "Parenting Facts and Fiction" standard presentation.

Luminis Books published my young adult novel entitled Just Myrto in May 2014. It earned a 2015 Moonbeam Award. Marrying Socrates launches Myrto, granddaughter of Aristides the Just, on a journey through Ancient Greek metaphysics to discover the wonder of being Just Myrto. Luminis Books published my young adult novel entitled Maybe I Will in March 2013. A sexually assaulted teenager resists conformity, yet discovers freedom of self-expression through the physical forms in Taekwondo and the poetic form of Shakespeare's sonnets. My personal essay entitled "Tearing Down the Barn" is featured as Chapter 1 in Lost Lessons from Life on the Farm (Action Publishing Group/2011), Gregory Bloom editor. A Kindle edition of the book was just released, and you can download the complete first chapter, including a color picture of the barn, for FREE  as part of the FREE KINDLE SAMPLE. I returned to the classroom on a regular basis in the fall of 2011 as an adjunct professor teaching criminal justice courses at Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne. After teaching several day classes on the Fort Wayne campus and an evening class in Huntington, I'm teaching mostly online courses now.  http://www.indianatech.edu/academics/faculty/Pages/adjuncts.aspx.

My article entitled "Stories Worth Banning" is featured in the current issue of Brigham Young University's biannual literary magazine Literature and Belief (Volume 20.2). It's a special edition devoted to young adult literature.

I served on the faculty at the 26th National Symposium on Child Abuse in Huntville, Alabama, March 22-25, 2010.  I co-presented a workshop entitled "Is It Insane to Use a S.A.N.E.?" with a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (S.A.N.E.).  I presented that and two more workshops in 2011, "How to BEAT a Bully" and "Prosecuting Child Sexual Abuse Cases." I taught the last two again in 2012 and hope to return in 2013 with two new workshops.  Click for more details
